Professor Victoria Elegant is based in Hong Kong for Amgen and is Vice-President, JAPAC Regional Medical Head, and Site Head, China Research Site, Shangha. Prior to Amgen, Professor Elegant was the Vice-President, Regulatory and Medical Affairs, APAC, based in Shanghai for 10 years for Baxter, and Vice President, Medical Affairs, Asia for Baxalta.
Professor Elegant is a Fellow of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine UK (FPM), member of the FPM International Committee, and is an Adjunct Professor, Faculty of Medicine and member of the Board of Studies for the Masters in Pharmaceutical Medicine at the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia.
She has published and spoken extensively on regulatory affairs, medical affairs and clinical development in the Asia Pacific region and is President of the Asia Pacific chapter of the Medical Affairs Professional Society (MAPS). She is on the biotech advisory board to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
Professor Elegant holds a medical degree from the University of London, and is passionate about improving standards of care and outcomes for patients in Asia. She is also involved in initiatives to support women in leadership.
A senior level pharma and biotechnology executive with over 20 years management and leadership experience in the health sector, pharmaceutical and biotech industries. Leon has worked in senior management positions in Australia, Europe and the US during which time he has led strategy development, set up teams and functions and led major international projects. He has a passion for people development with particular interests in coaching, mentoring and the developing field of neuroleadership.
Leon has experience in leadership and management roles and his strengths are leading groups, facilitating strategy development and developing staff. He has enhanced this experience with further learnings including training in elements of psychotherapy, accreditation as a practitioner of Extended DISC personality profiling and Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP) and is a certified Performance Coach.
Matt is an experienced Senior Medical Manager with a long history of working in the pharmaceuticals industry and clinical roles. Skilled in Pharmaceutical Medicine, Oncology and Haematology . Matt is a strong professional with a MMedSc focused in Pharmaceutical Medicine from UNSW Australia. Matt now lectures in Pharmaceutical Medicine at UNSW.
One of Matt’s main ambitions is the development of the Medical Affairs Profession and the ethical and effective implementation of the MSL role. Matt is the Secretary of the Australian Medical and Scientific Professional Association (APPA) which is the representative association for Medical Affairs in Australia and is dedicated to promoting excellence in pharmaceutical medicine through professional development, networking and advocacy. APPA is an association of medical directors, medical advisors and medical scientific liaisons working within medical affairs departments of Australian pharmaceutical companies. Matt is also currently working towards a Doctorate of Public Health which focuses on the role of Medical Affairs (focus on the MSL) in the Quality use of Medicine (QUM) and its impact on patient outcomes.
