The Learning & Development Committee (LDC) supports MAPS’ efforts to build a culture of continuous learning, underpinning MAPS’ aim to be the global standard bearer for professional development, improving individual competencies, expanding organizational capabilities, and becoming the eventual provider of the Medical Affairs profession. The LDC consists of three workstreams: Leadership & Competencies, L&D Organization, and MasterClass Training Program.

Driving the development of knowledge/competency-based capability content (e.g., eLearning modules) in areas such as business knowledge, evidence generation, scientific & technical and technological knowledge, customer engagement and scientific communications, and leadership & management.

Mapping of the MAPS capabilities framework according to Medical Affairs experience level, and identification of gaps in current MAPS programming (e.g., by experience level or MA function) to formalize a Medical Affairs curriculum. Outlining clear career paths for MA functions. Regular audit of existing content and resources.

Development – in conjunction with the Executive Program Committee as applicable – of the framework for MAPS MasterClass training programs (immersive, situational-based training programs at the intermediate/advanced level).
