Special Interest Group

Individuals participating in a MAPS Special Interest Group (SIG) collaborate on research-driven initiatives aimed at advancing knowledge and practice within their specific area. Through a cooperative effort, SIG members produce publications and presentations that disseminate new insights and developments. Project leaders must demonstrate expert knowledge of the subject matter and work closely with the Professional Development Committee (PDC) to help set strategic priorities and guide undertaking activities.

Some potential outputs from SIG collaborations include:

  • Elevated articles or white papers
  • Webinars or podcasts
  • Presentations at annual meetings
  • Other endeavors as designated by the Special Interest Group such as the Medical Technology MasterClass
