Medical Information is a critical conduit with healthcare providers who interact with field sales or scientific professionals or who seek scientific information independently. In this customer-facing and customer-focused capacity, Medical Information is the “face” of the manufacturer to many external customers and serves to facilitate the safe and effective use of the marketed products. Medical Information has a significant role in supporting the information needs of HCPs, patients, and caregivers through the provision of medical information in response to unsolicited questions about the manufacturer’s products and strives to provide excellent customer service based on the customer’s expectations through a variety of channels. MedInfo also partners with internal business functions, including, but not limited to: Medical Affairs, Pharmaceutical and Clinical Development, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Publication Planning, Safety, Business Technology, Finance, Legal, Regulatory, and Commercial/Marketing.
This Standard and Guidance is intended to inform learners about the Medical Information (MI) function, strategic direction, and operations across multiple geographies.
This White Paper draws on the expertise of 10 senior Medical Affairs leaders across diverse global organizations to describe the role of Medical Affairs in ensuring the MedTech industry meets the challenges of high-quality evidence, objective measures, changes in the healthcare landscape, and more.
This session will 1) Discuss why patient inclusion is important for Medical Affairs Professionals 2) Look at processes and potential barriers to inclusion of the patient perspective in Medical Affairs deliverables and development of clinical trial protocols; 3) Provide you with the resources to successfully establish a compliant process for patient engagement; and 4) will ultimately provide insights on how to work with patients in a compliant manner.
Medical Affairs professionals want to share Real-World Evidence (RWE) about drug products with payers, patient advocates and others, but communications about drug products are highly regulated. Federal laws, including FDAMA Section 114, FDA guidance materials and FDA enforcement actions all provide insight into the types of communications FDA will and will not accept. This presentation will provide insights into the types of communications that FDA has indicated are or are not permissible, and the uncertainties that still remain.
In this episode, we hear from RWE and industry experts on the importance of early alignment of your evidence generation plan and medical strategy and how to integrate RWE into your publication plan.
By using the framework of Explore, Educate, Embrace we can shape our approach to Health Equity by incorporating it into our daily work.
The volume of published Medical Information is doubling every 70-75 days and Medical Affairs teams tasked with disseminating and generating new evidence are facing more channels and sources of competition to reach and educate health care providers than ever before. This expert panel discussion will showcase innovative applications of internal performance management platforms such as the Medical Productivity Index (MPI) and external events, namely the 2022 Medical Affairs Innovation Olympics in pharma that illustrate examples of more continuous, real time feedback on performance, new data science analytics driven analysis of performance, more even distribution of accountability, and increased resources to accelerate learning and development. In addition, the webinar will explore both pharma and diagnostics strategies to explain how innovative performance management approaches translate into improved healthcare access and outcomes by analyzing patient and provider level data across internal functions and external institutions.
