Volunteer for the MAPS Speaker Bureau

What is the Speaker Bureau?

As a volunteer in the MAPS Speaker Bureau, you can share your subject matter expertise in one or more of the Competencies in the MAPS Medical Affairs Framework.

By joining, you may be invited to:

Speak at MAPS global meetings and educational sessions.

Serve as faculty for MAPS MasterClasses.

Collaborate with Focus Area Working Groups (FAWGs) or Domain Teams to complete deliverables, such as white papers or webinars.

Expectations:

Volunteering as a subject matter expert does not guarantee immediate engagement, but when opportunities arise, you may be contacted to contribute.

Overview of the mentorship program

Apply to the MAPS Mentorship Program:

The MAPS Mentorship Program connects medical affairs professionals at different stages of their careers. Whether you want to share your experience as a mentor or gain insights as a mentee, this program offers structured opportunities for personal and professional growth.

Mentors: Provide guidance and knowledge to those newer in their careers or transitioning roles.

Mentees: Gain valuable insights and advice from seasoned professionals.

Application Process:

Fill out the application form to indicate your interest in becoming a mentor or mentee. You’ll be matched based on your goals, experience, and areas of interest.

Join a MAPS Chapter: Connect Locally

MAPS Chapters provide regional or country-specific opportunities for members to collaborate, network, and advance their careers.

Joining a Chapter means:

Participating in local events and discussions tailored to your region’s medical affairs environment.

Connecting with other professionals in your area.

Engaging in local learning and development opportunities.

Apply to Join a Domain Team or Focus Area Working Group (FAWG)

MAPS is transforming the Medical Affairs profession to increase its value to patients, HCPs, industry and society. The PDC partners with more than 7 Domain teams, 11 Focus Area Working Groups, and other groups in their goals to develop and execute the annual content plans. Guided by the Competency Framework, a comprehensive guide to define the core competencies required for success in this dynamic field.

Domain Teams:

Domain Teams focus on cross-functional,
strategic areas. Domain Team membership is open
to those with significant expertise who are eager
to contribute to high-level initiatives. The process
involves:

Submitting an application highlighting
relevant experience and interest.
Engaging in collaborative efforts to shape
strategic outputs.

Apply to Join a Focus Area Working Group (FAWG)

Focus Area Working Groups:

FAWGs focus on advancing specific areas of medical
affairs by developing best practices and producing
educational resources. To apply:

Review the FAWG competency area that aligns
with your expertise.
Submit your application with details of your
qualifications and interest.
Commit to collaborating on group projects,
attending meetings, and supporting deliverables.

Guided by the Competency Framework, a comprehensive guide to define the core competencies required for success in this dynamic field. This group is responsible for creating all MAPS content, aligning it across the 7 key domains to provide a unified perspective for Medical Affairs.
