MAPS-MasterClass-Launch-Excellence

WHAT IS A MEDICAL AFFAIRS MASTERCLASS TRAINING PROGRAM?

Immersive, situational-based, two-day training programs focused on key competencies of Medical Affairs that MAPS deems critical for success.

Whether you’re preparing for your first launch or your 5th – big company or small – this program will prove useful, as successful launches in this new era will only be possible if we upgrade existing best practices, together.

Each MasterClass is designed to have a maximum ratio of 8 participants per instructor. We are limiting participation to 40-50 maximum per city, and are expecting delegates from approximately 20-25 different companies per city.

Each program is carefully designed to maximize best practice sharing and cross-industry networking, and will include access to a post-meeting online workspace for continued collaboration with the learning cohort for 1 year, at no additional cost.

A RECOGNIZED STANDARD OF EXCELLENCE

MAPS is a globally recognized leader in education, training and best practice sharing – setting the standards for Medical Affairs excellence for over 6,300 members from 230+ companies, including 21 official industry partner companies (and counting). A certificate of completion will be provided at the conclusion of the MasterClass. In addition, an online workspace for the MasterClass cohort will be created immediately following the program for one year to allow continued best practice sharing, Q&A, and co-learning from peers in the cohort.

HEALTH & SAFETY COMMITMENT

A safe place for Medical Affairs – a safe space for participants.

The safety of meeting participants, faculty and staff is MAPS’ top priority. We encourage you to monitor this page to stay abreast of the latest updates on health and safety protocols for the MAPS Launch Excellence MasterClass in NYC.

Proof of Vaccination

As of August 17, as part of the Key to NYC mayoral mandate (https://www1.nyc.gov/site/doh/covid/covid-19-vaccines-keytonyc.page), “people 12 and older are required to show proof they have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine authorized for emergency use by the FDA or WHO” for indoor meetings and events.

For proof of vaccination, you can use:

  • CDC Vaccination Card. A photo or photocopy of this card is also acceptable.
  • NYC Vaccination Record or other official immunization record from within or outside the U.S., including from your health care provider. A photo or photocopy of this card is also acceptable. If you are unable to get this record, call 311.
  • NYC COVID Safe AppAndroid | iOS. You can upload to this app a photo of your CDC vaccination card or other official record, along with your photo ID.
  • Excelsior Pass (or Excelsior Pass Plus). To use this app, you will need the phone number or email address associated with your NYC vaccination record. If you are unable to use this app, try one of the other options listed above.

On-Site Safety Measures

Public health guidance on preventing the transmission of COVID-19 continues to evolve, and MAPS will base its on-site protocols on the latest guidance from the CDC in addition to local regulations in NYC. Registered participants will be given specific instructions prior to arriving on site. Even though all registered participants, faculty and staff (including hotel/venue staff) will be vaccinated, the wearing of protective masks or other personal protective equipment is welcomed, regardless of whether or not it is required at the time of the meeting. Participants will be provided with several kits containing a disposable mask, alcohol wipes, and hand sanitizer in the registration area to use if they wish.

Similarly, meeting rooms will be set up to accommodate those attendees who prefer more personal space as well as those who prefer to sit closer together, even if social distancing is not mandated at the time of the meeting.

Even though the science now shows that transmission is unlikely to occur from touching surfaces touched by multiple persons (i.e., lecterns, microphones), staff will clean these regularly to promote healthy sanitation overall.

Should you have any additional safety protocol questions, please email Pedro Campa at pcampa@medicalaffairs.org.

We look forward to proving you a safe and memorable meeting experience!
