The Evidence Generation domain and competencies for Medical Affairs professionals focus on learning how actions, decisions, and policies, are informed by credible evidence, fostering effective, efficient, and equitable outcomes. This involves a multidisciplinary team dedicated to producing actionable evidence through systematic and rigorous research methods, while upholding principles of collaboration, transparency, and ethical integrity. These competencies include integrated evidence planning, identifying data gaps, leveraging real-world evidence (RWE) and conducting Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR), understanding the uses of RWE by teams evaluating safety signals and in adverse event monitoring, funding or collaborating in non-company sponsored research, fostering innovative evidence generation techniques, and prioritizing health equity considerations.
