Recent updates to Good Publication Practice and by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editor’s Recommendations present guidance on emerging topics such as plain language summaries (PLS), social media, enhanced publication content, artificial intelligence, authorship, and inclusivity. New focus areas include the roles of enhanced content and the need for equity among all stakeholders, including patients. GPP 2022 was also reimagined to serve as an introduction to the field.
