Objectives:
The COVID-19 pandemic led to the biggest change in scientific congresses in a generation, with virtual meetings becoming the mainstay. In that time, we have seen many big congresses offer different options, such as virtual exhibition booths, blogs, and podcasts. As we start to go back to live or hybrid options, we will discuss what we have learnt from the last 2 years to take forward to future congress offerings. We will also explore what HCPs want when joining congresses both virtually or face-to-face.
As speed of data sharing has become front of mind, congresses have also adapted to give alternative options to share certain types of key data, avoiding the need to wait months until the next annual congress. However, questions remain regarding reach and engagement with these new options.
Finally, what do we think the congress of the future will look like. How will congresses tackle DE&I and sustainability? Will we be using avatars and joining in the metaverse or will there always be a demand for face-to-face conversations. We will share our thoughts on innovative options we think will be adopted.
