Dr. Marc Rubinstein joined Werfen (Instrumentation Laboratory) in 2016 as the new Medical Director. His current role is building the relatively new medical affairs team, leading the medical affairs strategy, as well the medical science liaison team.
Prior to joining Werfen, Marc served as the Sr. Manager Global Medical Affairs at Baxter Healthcare. He specialized in KOL’s and fostering publications related to medical device products.
Prior to joining the industry, Marc spent several years in academia at the University of California, Irvine working with various medical devices and medical imaging technology where he published several peer-review journals as well as multiple book chapters.
Marc holds a Medical Doctor degree from the Universidad Anahuac, Mexico. He did his general surgery residency at the University of Southern California and Huntington Hospital in Los Angeles, California. He is currently doing his MBA at the Haslam College of Business (U Tennessee Knoxville).
Ivan Desviat, MBA, CHCP is Director Medical Education Excellence for AbbVie biotech overseeing company led Medical Education strategic planning, implementation approach, and program impact measures for Medical Affairs across all company’s Therapeutic Areas at Global HQ and affiliates. He brings more than 20 years of documented success across a variety of Affiliate, EU Regional, US and Global assignments in Medical Affairs organization, Commercial teams and Continuous Performance roles.
Ivan is recognized for enhancing Medical Affairs internal capabilities such as scientific platforms, KOL engagement, insights, internal training and delivering educational engagement strategies with innovative programs in different local, regional, and global roles.
He has author several congresses oral, and posters related to medical education research and was granted in 2017 the prestigious GAME Medical Education international award for a PI program in collaboration with the health agency in Spain.
He recently accepted the role of Co-Chair of the MAPS External Education Focus Area Working Group. In this effort he will be working to enhance the value of Medical Affairs education within the industry while providing visibility to new approaches and solutions recently created in response to the changing landscape.
Ivan received the bachelor’s degree in industrial chemistry (M.Sc.) from the Universidad Complutense of Madrid (Spain), and was recipient of an Erasmus study grant to complete the Chemical Engineering degree (ChE) from the Ecole européenne de Chimie, Polymères et Materieu at Strasburg (France). He completed his MBA at Instituto de Empresa (IE), and holds a six sigma black belt and CHCP certification.
Jacqueline Waldrop is the Oncology lead for the Global Medical Grants team at Pfizer Inc. Her responsibilities include Investigator Sponsored Research, Quality Improvement and Continuing Medical Education (CME) grants. She is responsible for developing and implementing grant-making strategies in collaboration with Pfizer colleagues as well as with external stakeholder organizations. The grants program aims to improve patient care through advances in independent research, medical education, and health care quality improvement initiatives.
Prior to joining Pfizer in 2006 Jacqueline worked as the Director of Continuing Professional Education for the American Heart Association managing the accredited program for physicians, nurses, pharmacists and emergency services. Her accomplishments at the AHA included expansion of guidelines-based education and implementation of an association-wide learning management system for healthcare professionals.
Jacqueline has a BA in Chemistry from Austin College in Sherman, TX. She has a MS in Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs and Certificate in Clinical Trial Management from Temple University School of Pharmacy in Philadelphia, PA.
Dr. Ashish “Ash” Dugar is a business leader with experience in clinical development & medical affairs, market access & health economics, commercial & business development, and new product assessment. He has a deep understanding of the global healthcare environment, market trends, and drug development.
Ash is the Vice-President, Global Medical Affairs at Sarepta Therapeutics, a company leading the field in precision genetic medicine with one of the world’s largest RNA and Gene Therapy pipelines. Prior to his role at Sarepta, Ash was VP, Commercial Development at Intracellular Therapies where he was responsible for developing commercial and market access strategies. And before that role, he was the Global Head, Clinical Development Science & Innovation at Roche. Additionally, Ash was VP, Biosimilars for Cardinal Health (CAH) Specialty Solutions. And before joining CAH, Ash was Pfizer’s Vice-President, Global Head, Medicines Development Group for Biosimilars, where his team advanced Oncology and Autoimmune agents in the clinic.
