There is no single definition of “launch excellence.” Indeed, all factors involved in attempting to quantify the success of pharmaceutical launches must first address launch readiness—the steps taken toward an optimal launch effort and a necessary precursor to launch excellence. Launch excellence requires optimal alignment of launch strategy and execution to drive efficiency; effectiveness; compliance; consistency and best practices across countries, therapeutic areas, and management; all while allowing flexibility to accommodate market changes. It is critical that a launch strategy be in place, is understood, accepted, and applied throughout the organization to ensure clarity of the steps to be taken.
After participating in the Launch Excellence MasterClass program, participants should be better able to:
- Understand the leadership role Medical Affairs plays in Launch Excellence
- Identify the components of a successful launch from a company and external perspective, including markers of success
- Identify where Medical Affairs can add optimum value through the process
- Determine the expertise Medical Affairs bring at all stages of the process and how they can best interact internally and externally
- Demonstrate collaboration and alignment on shared goals and expectations when working across internal and external stakeholder networks
- Construct and embed tools, systems and processes that support execution
- Prepare teams at all levels of the Medical Affairs community to take responsibility for the appropriate strategic and implementation objectives

EARLY BIRD PRICING & SCHEDULE
(Includes 1 year MAPS membership)
|Teams of 5 or more registering at the same time||10% discount on above pricing|
All MasterClass programs are conducted on Monday and Tuesday, running from approximately 10:00-17:00 each day. There will be a special networking reception Monday evening at the conclusion of the day’s sessions. A detailed program and instructor list for each city will be available here in the coming weeks.
Instruction will include a limited number of plenary sessions focused on general launch principles that apply to all types of launches. The majority of program time (>70%) will be spent in small group interactive workshops and table discussions, where participants will have the opportunity to join peers with specific interests and needs, such as launch planning for big pharma, first time launches, or medical/diagnostic device launches.
Venue information will be posted in mid-to-late May. As the schedule is designed to allow for commute times for local participants, a limited number of hotel accommodations will be made available to those desiring overnight accommodations, or for those traveling from outside the host city. Accommodation rates and a reservations link will be posted along with the venue information in mid-to-late May.
A RECOGNIZED STANDARD OF EXCELLENCE

A certificate of completion will be provided at the conclusion of the MasterClass. In addition, an online workspace for the MasterClass cohort will be created immediately following the program for one year to allow continued best practice sharing, Q&A, and co-learning from peers in the cohort.
CONCERNED ABOUT FACE-TO-FACE MEETINGS OR HAVE CORPORATE TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS?
Introducing “Breakout Pods”
Although we are all excited to resume in-person meetings, we realize that everyone will have different levels of comfort for those initial interactions, and some of you may have corporate policies in place restricting your participation in meetings to less than a certain number of attendees.
To this end, we are pleased to introduce “Breakout Pods” for safe yet effective engagement. While most of the time at MasterClass programs are spent in small group breakouts of 25 people or less, we do reconvene periodically for re-caps and brief plenary-style instruction. If you are not yet comfortable being in a larger group or have aforementioned corporate travel restrictions in place, you may elect to remain in your Breakout Pod for the duration of the MasterClass. We will simply livestream the main room session into your breakout room, and you may still participate in the discussion using the AV technology provided. This will allow you to remain with the same group of 25 (or less) people for the duration of the meeting.
