Monica De Abadal

Dr Mónica de Abadal is VP, Medical Excellence, Global Medical Affairs at Ipsen, and the EMEA Region President of the Medical Affairs Professional Society, with more than 16 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry.

Dr de Abadal has experience in multiple therapeutic areas, including oncology, endocrinology and movement disorders as well as operational and strategic Medical Affairs experience in diverse disciplines of medical affairs and product commercialization, such as leading compliance and SOP/policy efforts, quality management systems, data generation, field-based medical teams (MSLs), safety, medical communication & publications.

She has served as a board member in companies specialized in telemedicine and has international Medical Affairs experience in Europe, APAC (Australia) and global positions, including deputy Chief Medical Officer, Global Head of Publications. She currently holds the VP Global Medical Affairs Services group position at Ipsen.

Dr de Abadal obtained her medical degree from the University of Barcelona  and entered residency in Anaesthesiology in Hospital Vall d´Hebron (Barcelona)  ). She validated her medical degree in the US (USMLE) and obtained an MBA specialized in Healthcare administration from (USF) and a postgraduate diploma in Pharmaceutical Medicine (UAB).

She feels passionate about Medical Excellence.

Augusto Grinspan

Dr. Augusto Grinspan is the Vice President Medical Affairs, Head of LATAM at Merck KGaA where he leads a team of 150+ Medical Affairs professionals focusing in areas of Neurology, Oncology, Fertility and General Medicines. The scope of his team expands to Medical Education, Digital Communication and Patient Support Programs.  Dr Grinspan received his medical degree from the National University of Cordoba, Argentina and he pursued specialty training in Neurology at the Louis Pasteur University in Strasbourg, France. Prior to joining the pharmaceutical industry, Dr. Grinspan was actively involved in patient care and clinical research. 

His more than 18 years of pharmaceutical industry experience include work in Medical Affairs, Clinical Development and Commercial in various geographies (Europe, US, Emerging Markets); he did work at Johnson & Johnson, Novartis and Teva Pharmaceuticals.

John Olsen

Dr. Olsen trained as an Anesthesiologist and spent the most recent part of his career as a Senior-Level Pharmaceutical Executive. His career has been characterized by transformational domestic and international leadership roles in publicly traded companies, government, and private healthcare industries. Dr. Olson is equally comfortable in the board room as he is on the battlefield. As a naval officer, he served as commander of a forward-deployed medical facility and more recently lead 38 country field-based teams into a new digital and remote setting due to COVID-19. He held senior Medical Affairs roles with Hospira, CAP, Baxter, Sanofi, and Sanofi-Genzyme.  

Dr. Olsen received his Bachelor of Science in zoology-animal biology from the University of Wisconsin, Madison and earned his Doctor of Medicine from The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. He also holds a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College and a Master of Healthcare Administration from the U.S. Army Baylor University, San Antonio, Texas.

Patrick Reilly

Patrick is a Medical Affairs consultant with over 30 years of experience within the pharmaceutical industry.  His area of focus and expertise is Medical Affairs functional capabilities, where he helps organizations harmonize and transform those capabilities to enhance efficiencies, increase productivity, and create value.

Patrick is currently the CEO of phactMI, a non-profit association representing medical information leadership of 30+ pharma companies.  PhactMI is an industry-wide consortium that focuses on increasing the awareness, credibility, and access to medical information.

Prior to joining phactMI, Patrick worked at Bristol-Myers Squibb where he held various leadership roles within the R&D organization.  He led the US Clinical Site Monitoring organization in R&D operations and implemented the original Oncology and Immunocience field Medical teams in US Medical Affairs.  Patrick’s global achievement at BMS was leading the implementation of a Field Medical capability in Europe, in support of several key launches.

Patrick was a member of the Global Medical leadership team and provided executive sponsorship for several key initiatives and programs including: developing new leaders through the BMS-Rutgers PharmD program; implementing new global systems and capabilities in support of a multichannel, customer centric strategy; and helping to transform the organization to a specialty care biopharma model.

Just prior to leaving BMS, Patrick led the globalization of the Medical Information capability by harmonizing customer engagement through the implementation of a global medical contact center, centralizing medical content creation and curation, and implementing a multichannel technology solution.

Patrick is a Physician Assistant by training and holds a Masters of Science degree in business administration and human resources management.

Sanjay Singhvi

Sanjay balances the clinical with the commercial to direct service and platform innovation at VML Health. He has worked in pharmaceutical services for several years in a number of roles, supporting a wide range of pharmaceutical companies with their digital and technology initiatives. Sanjay has a degree in Biochemistry from the University of London, a degree in Medicine from Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospital, and an MBA from Harvard University. His first post-graduate thesis on pharma brand-management was developed in collaboration with several leading Pharma companies. His second post-graduate thesis was a study on why most healthcare communication agencies eventually fail. Sanjay is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine in the UK.
