Becky Harmon, PharmD, MBA is currently serving as COO for Diabetes Clinical Development at Eli Lilly and Company. Prior to this role, she held several positions within Medical Affairs, including as a Director within Lilly’s Global Medical Affairs Central Capabilities organization. In this role, she provided leadership for Lilly’s enterprise-wide Thought Leader Center of Excellence, Global Medical Affairs Launch Readiness, and Strategy and Operations.
Becky joined Lilly in 2007 and, throughout her career, she has held roles in multiple functions and has had experiences on Global and US teams and in both internal and field-based settings. These opportunities have driven her passion for exceptional customer experiences and, with a focus on external trends and industry best practices, she continues to champion the evolving role of Medical Affairs and its opportunity to take on a more strategic and prominent position in the organization.
Becky graduated from Butler University with a Doctorate of Pharmacy and a Master’s in Business Administration. Prior to joining Lilly, she practiced as a hospital pharmacist in the Ascension Health System.
Jennifer Schwinn, RPh has worked for more than 20 years in the pharmaceutical industry with broad therapeutic experience and a strong background in developing and implementing scientific communications plans. She has held positions across many functions within medical affairs over her career, including publications, medical communications and independent medical education. Jennifer is passionate about the role of scientific communications in driving medical strategy and tactical execution, and the importance of a cross-functional and global approach to the development of integrated, medical communications plans.
Jennifer began her career as a member of medical teams within communications and publications agencies, and spent many years as an independent consultant. She has also held positions at Roche and, most recently, Celgene Corporation. Jennifer is currently Director, Worldwide Scientific Publications – Immunology at Bristol Myers Squibb. She received her bachelor’s degree (BS) in Pharmacy from Rutgers University and is a registered pharmacist (RPh) in New Jersey.
Jan van Overbeeke, M.Sc., MBA, based in Tokyo, co-leads Medical Affairs for McKinsey across Asia. As part of his work, he provides leadership in client service on medical topics across the Asia region, publishes in the public domain, oversees McKinsey’s Medical Affairs Performance Evaluation Survey and hosts Medical Affairs leadership round-tables. Mr. van Overbeeke started with McKinsey in the Netherlands, and since then has served pharmaceutical and medical device companies across Europe, the US and Asia during his 3 year tenure in the United Kingdom and since 2014 in Japan. A native of the Netherlands, Mr. van Overbeeke received his Engineering degree from the Technical University of Delft and his law degree from the University of Leiden. He completed a full-time MBA program at INSEAD in Singapore and France.
