Dr. Lang is the Vice President and Head of International Medical Affairs and Oncology Clinical Development Asia-Pacific at Gilead Sciences. In this role, Zig oversees the Medical Affairs teams in countries and regions outsides of the US and Europe. He also leads the Oncology Clinical Development in the Asia-Pacific region.
Prior to coming to Gilead Sciences, Zig worked in Bayer’s Global Medical Affairs and Pharmacovigilance in the US and China. Zig has over 23 years of pharmaceutical industry experiences ranging from early and late stage clinical development to medical affairs. Zig held positions with increasing responsibilities at Bayer, Endo Pharmaceuticals, Johnson and Johnson, Wyeth and Novo Nordisk. Zig is a board-certified oncologist and hematologist in the US. He received his medical education at the Fourth Military Medical University in Xi’an and PhD in Biochemistry at Rush University in Chicago.
Heidi is based in Tokyo, Japan and leads the Oncology Medical Affairs Strategy for the Asia Pacific and South America region at Daiichi Sankyo. She is also a member of the MAPS focus area working group Medical Strategy & Launch Excellence. Heidi has 12 years’experience working in Medical Affairs in various roles across countries and therapeutic areas,and is passionate about developing innovative solutions for the benefit of patients, as well as driving change, building high-performing teams, and enhancing collaboration to bring out the best out of people and organizations. Before moving to Japan, Heidi was based in Germany as the Regional Medical Affairs Director at Daiichi Sankyo Europe, driving the medical strategy and launch excellence for Oncology indications. Heidi also has several years of field based Medical Affairs experience working with Amgen as well as Baxalta in Europe. Heidi holds a PhD in Molecular Biology from Karolinska Institute, Sweden, and an MBA from Helsinki School of Economics, Finland. She is a strong supporter of women in leadership and is also volunteering with the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association as the Branch Lead for Asia-Pacific. She believes success is all about collaboration and joining forces, andtogether we can make an impact and transform the Medical Affairs profession to the next level.
Professor Victoria Elegant is based in Hong Kong for Amgen and is Vice-President, JAPAC Regional Medical Head, and Site Head, China Research Site, Shangha. Prior to Amgen, Professor Elegant was the Vice-President, Regulatory and Medical Affairs, APAC, based in Shanghai for 10 years for Baxter, and Vice President, Medical Affairs, Asia for Baxalta. Â
Professor Elegant is a Fellow of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine UK (FPM), member of the FPM International Committee, and is an Adjunct Professor, Faculty of Medicine and member of the Board of Studies for the Masters in Pharmaceutical Medicine at the  University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia. Â
She has published and spoken extensively on regulatory affairs, medical affairs and clinical development in the Asia Pacific region  and is President of the Asia Pacific chapter of the Medical Affairs Professional Society (MAPS). She is on the biotech advisory board to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. Â
Professor Elegant holds a medical degree from the University of London, and is passionate about improving standards of care and outcomes for patients in Asia. She is also involved in initiatives to support women in leadership. Â
Yao Li, M.D. and MSc., the Head of Medical Affairs and Pharmacovigilance at Bayer Healthcare China including Hong Kong. In this role, she directs the Medical Affairs, Medical Science Liaisons, Medical Communications, Scientific Operations, Medical Compliance, Patient Support and Disease Management Programs, Health Economics and Outcome Research and Pharmacovigilance.
Prior to this position, Yao has more than 15 years of experience in Medical Affairs with progressively increasing responsibilities across multiple therapeutic areas. She held positions in different therapeutic areas including Cardiovascular, Metabolism, Oncology, Gynecology, Ophthalmology, Anti-infection and Hemophilia at Xi’an-Janssen, Novartis, Bayer China and Bayer US. She received her medical education at Capital Medical University and Peking Union Medical College.
Rohit Arora is the Affiliate Medical Director at Eli Lilly and Company, India and is responsible for Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs and Patient Support Programs. He joined Lilly India in June 2018.
Prior to this, he has held leadership responsibilities in diverse roles within Medical Affairs, Business Alliances and Commercial across various organizations including Ranbaxy, Sanofi, Abbott and Shire.
In his current role, Rohit is focused on establishing strong scientific leadership for Lilly India across diverse therapy areas and enhancing access to innovative therapies and solutions towards supporting better health outcomes.
Rohit has completed his MD from SN Medical College, Agra and has a certification in public affairs from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore.
