MAPS-MasterClass-Launch-Excellence

Chicago Program: November 15-16, 2021

WHAT IS A MEDICAL AFFAIRS MASTERCLASS TRAINING PROGRAM?

Immersive, situational-based, two-day training programs focused on key competencies of Medical Affairs that MAPS deems critical for success.

Whether you’re preparing for your first launch or your 5th – big company or small – this program will prove useful, as successful launches in this new era will only be possible if we upgrade existing best practices, together.

Each MasterClass is designed to have a maximum ratio of 8 participants per instructor. We are limiting participation to 40-50 maximum per city, and are expecting delegates from approximately 20-25 different companies per city.

Each program is carefully designed to maximize best practice sharing and cross-industry networking, and will include access to a post-meeting online workspace for continued collaboration with the learning cohort for 1 year, at no additional cost.

A certificate of completion will be provided at the conclusion of the MasterClass. HEALTH & SAFETY COMMITTMENT

A safe place for Medical Affairs – a safe space for participants.

The safety of meeting participants, faculty and staff is MAPS’ top priority. MAPS will continue to monitor CDC recommendations and will update safety measures as appropriate. For the most up-to-date information on health and safety precautions and requirements, continue to monitor this page.

Proof of Vaccination Requirement

There is strong consensus among health care experts that the COVID-19 vaccines are safe and effective in reducing the chance of serious illness or death resulting from the disease. Therefore, MAPS will require proof of vaccination from all meeting attendees, faculty, and MAPS staff prior to the meeting or upon admittance to designated event space on site. This provides assurance to participants that we are adhering to the highest standards of health protection.

Attendees should be aware that, while MAPS will make every effort to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission on site, it is possible that attendees may come in contact with people in airports, train stations, and around the meeting venue who could potentially carry the virus, which is why MAPS is requiring attendees to be fully vaccinated for their own safety, as well as the safety of others.

Prior to receiving a badge on site, attendees will be asked to provide proof that they are fully vaccinated with a vaccine approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) or the World Health Organization (WHO).

For those unable to travel or meet the vaccination requirement, MAPS will be offering a virtual meeting option for this program, taking place in the first half of 2022.

How to Provide Proof of Vaccination

Participants may show MAPS registration staff on site a CDC Vaccination Card (a photo or photocopy of this card is also acceptable), along with a valid form of Identification.

Face Coverings

Even though all registered participants, faculty and staff will be vaccinated, the wearing of protective face coverings is welcomed, regardless of whether it is required locally at the time of the meeting.

Onsite Safety Measures

Public health guidance on preventing the transmission of COVID-19 continues to evolve, and MAPS will base its on-site protocols on the latest guidance from the CDC in addition to local regulations.

Participants will be provided with a kit containing a mask, alcohol wipes, and hand sanitizer in the registration area to use if they wish.

Similarly, meeting rooms will be set up to accommodate those attendees who prefer more personal space as well as those who prefer to sit closer together, even if social distancing is not mandated at the time of the meeting.

Even though the science now shows that transmission is unlikely to occur from touching surfaces touched by multiple persons (i.e., lecterns, microphones), staff will clean these regularly to promote healthy sanitation overall.

Should you have any additional safety protocol questions, please email Pedro Campa at pcampa@medicalaffairs.org.

We look forward to welcoming you back, and to providing you a safe and memorable meeting experience!
