SUMMARY:Behavioral Science: The Missing Link in Medical Education
DESCRIPTION:External medical affairs education has traditionally focused on delivering knowledge to HCPs.  However\, while foundational\, knowledge alone does not always translate to clinical behavior change. The integration of behavioral science insights into the medical education process can be utilized to ultimately support the delivery of patient-focused solutions. This session examines how integrating behavioral science insights (how humans make decisions and what drives their behavior) and adult education best practices (how adults best acquire\, retain\, and use knowledge) can evolve external medical education from knowledge dissemination alone to behavioral understanding and\, ultimately\, impactful outcomes.  \n\n\n\nKey discussion points will include:  \n\n\n\n\n1)    Why Behavioral Science Matters in Medical Education: Explore the limitations of knowledge-based education and the importance of driving behavioral change for impactful outcomes.\n\n\n\n2)    Essential Behavioral Science Concepts for Medical Education:\n\n\n\nIdentify and discuss key behavioral science principles that can enhance educational effectiveness.\n\n\n\n3)    Practical Integration of Behavioral Science into Medical Education: Provide strategies for incorporating behavioral science into educational activities\, including real-world examples and practical guidance on how to address common challenges.\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\nRegister\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nModerator: \n\n\n\nRiaz Baxamusa \n\n\n\nIndependent Medical Education Lead\, USA \n\n\n\nAstellas \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPanelist: \n\n\n\nFernando Martin \n\n\n\nHead\, Global Medical Education \n\n\n\nAstellas \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPanelist: \n\n\n\nMelissa Rondeau \n\n\n\nSr. EVP\, Head of Medical Affairs \n\n\n\nHavas Health \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPanelist: \n\n\n\nLisa Mattle \n\n\n\nHead\, Behavioral Science Consortium \n\n\n\nAstellas
